Slave To Sin was created by Laura Crutch, a singer-songwriter based in Lyon.
It is a one-woman band project. It was mainly influenced by industrial rock music with artists such as Nine Inch Nails, Gary Numan or Chelsea Wolfe.
In 2020, the projecttook shape with the addition of her singing voice on top of her compositions. The name of the project came naturally with the song “Slave To God” (n°11) on the album Dead Inside. The sample of a pastor pronouncing these words echoes: “As a christian, is there a sense in which I am still a slave to sin or – as a Christian, am I now exclusively a slave of God? »
Dead Inside is her first solo album, released on December 17th, 2022.
It is a dark industrial rock album, tinged with anger, despair, melancholy but also reflection on the world around us and human relationships.
The new EP « Control and beliefs », out on April 2024, talks about how our lives can be controlled by the system or by ourselves when we fix our relationships or our way of living too much limitations for example. It also talks about our value and beliefs system.
